Distractions

Trying to do something that you fear or find emotionally, physically difficult isn’t easy. A lot of what people see from the people who have either become successful or done the things they want to do with themselves in their lives comes from discipline. If you’re looking to find such greener pastures and you’ve been living an undisciplined, lazy lifestyle you’re going to encounter a lot of distractions.

These distractions all come from within you and you’ll seemingly put them up in your own way in an attempt to divert your attention away from those things that require emotional labor or courage to do. Since the distractions come from you they can be quite difficult to overcome and identify because you may see them as hobbies or even your favorite pass times, they come in many different forms and can even be emotional like becoming depressed or lethargic tempting you to take a seat on the couch and just vegetate instead of doing the things you really want to do.

These distractions come naturally as you encounter the complicated process of self improvement. It is up to you to keep these in check as you move along and remind yourself not to fall back into your old ways of doing.
