Complicating Success

There is not one teacher who could tend to a class the size of the globe. We can apply this same principle to our lives. When we find ourselves searching for success its easy to focus too much on being original when we need not be. The world is full of people that demand fulfillment in all available arenas of life. They might even be awaiting your arrival.

As we dig through life like a wild boar hunting down a delicious truffle we occasionally come across a true gem. It will pull us in and we begin to develop skill in whatever it may be as time goes on. There are other variables at work during this time that we can take for granted. As we become more familiar with what we are doing, we almost automatically paint ourselves onto the picture. By doing this we increase the uniqueness of what we are doing and without us what we do wouldn’t be the same.

Take pride in being yourself. When you’re looking for growth don’t stretch yourself thin trying to come up with something completely new. The world is filled to the brim with opportunities in all venues. A vast majority of those are there waiting for someone to come along, pick them up, turn them over, and to fill the gap.

“Beware of rashness, but with energy and sleepless vigilance go forward and give us victories.”

Abraham Lincoln – Letter to Joseph Hooker
